I have always been a curious and creative soul. Naturally, as a dreamer, I have long wished to be able to make a small living off of things I love deeply, my hope is that I am finally in a place where that may be a possibility. I also have never been completely able to choose between music and art, so I am going to try to do both at some point! However, because of this division of interest, I am not particularly professional in either one. But, that is where the beauty of being an amateur comes in.
AMATEU'R, noun [Latin anator, a lover, from amo, to love.]
A person attached to a particular pursuit, study or science, as to music or painting; one who has a taste for the arts.
So, in a way, being an amateur is more important to me than being a professional, even though the two can technically coexist. I do what I do out of love. I do what I do because I am attached to a pursuit of love, not just because I have a high education or skill set or only for the money. Though, I still wish to offer and create high quality and well done art and music, as well as receive some small support for my efforts. So, I thank you if you choose to help me on this journey.
There are lots of big dreams floating in my mind of ways I could combine painting and music to create other things to stir our souls and connect people in community and work for change as society... but perhaps those dreams are too grand for now. I will start small, take my time, and see where life takes me, one brush stroke and one music note at a time.
